Sourcing for Government Tenders: A Guide for Malaysian Suppliers

Navigating the Public Sector

Supplying to the Malaysian government requires adherence to strict protocols, often managed through the E-Perolehan system. As a supplier, understanding these requirements is key to winning tenders.

Key Requirements

  1. MOF Registration: You must be registered with the Ministry of Finance (MOF).
  2. Bumiputera Status: Many tenders prioritize Bumiputera-status companies.
  3. Local Content: There is a strong preference for "Buatan Malaysia" (Made in Malaysia) goods. While many raw materials are imported, local assembly and printing count towards this.

Our Support for Tender Agents

We work closely with tender agents. We provide:

  • Unbranded Samples: For submission during the tender process.
  • Letter of Authorization (LOA): Confirming stock availability and pricing validity for the tender period (usually 90-120 days).
  • Credit Terms: We understand government payment cycles can be slow. We offer flexible terms for verified contracts.

Documentation

Ensure your invoices and delivery orders (DO) match the Local Order (LO) exactly. Any discrepancy in description or unit price can delay payment by months.
